Garnier (Pure) Self-heating Sauna Facial Mask (Zinc)

I was at Watson earlier to get some Christmas gift for a friend who asked for Facial Masks... There were alot at other shopping malls but my Darling No 1 was so tired (yes, I out-walked someone who runs THE MARATHON ;p) that he asked me to shop at the Watson near his house.

So we were there, and I was looking through the many facial products and while searching for a facial mask, I saw this strangest thing. A single pack of Neutrogena costs $1.95 and a box of 5 sheets costs like $31! Anyway, I saw this Garnier Facial Mask and decided to try it myself.

(click on the picture to see the enlarged version)

As you can see, there are 2 parts, it actually comes for 2 applications (2 uses).

The reverse side reads:

Pure
SELF-HEATING SAUNA MASK
- The formular generates a self-heating action on contact with the skin. Specially developed with clay and zinc, it works to remove impurities and excess sebum to unclog pores and refind skin texture. Your skin feels deeply cleansed and looks shine-free. It feels purified for up to 7 days.
Instructions: Apply gently on the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin). Leave for 3 minutes, then rinse off. Suitable for the oily combination skin. Use once or twice every week. For 2 applications (2x6ml).
Here is the picture with the details.

(click on the picture to see the enlarged version)

The reason why I got it was because it stated something like your skin will feel pure for 7 days!
And truly it is!

I guess it is really the zinc ingredient because I have used other clay mask before and none made me feel that my face is like baby skin smooth! But at the same time, it does make me feel that my pimples all really pop up! After my face dried up, I immediately applied my Tea Tree applications from Body Shop. The Tea Tree oil is really good too! Not to mention the Facial Foaming Cleanser, Toner and the Moisturiser and the Night lotion.

I went to apply and took this picture.

I thought I looked a tad too serious and took this instead.

Don't I look better like this? Darling No 1 said that the second picture showed off my pimples. And he made me so angry that I said that I would post this as my FaceBook picture and ask if any one wants to date me! He said that I must mention that I have Horse Tail hair (and maybe horses' tails are better maintained than my hair!) and I said I will add the part about my tummy... so there!

ps: if you want to date me, leave me a comment on my Facebook or on my blog. Terms and condition applies  for the date! ;p

Went to the Philips Sale 2010 today.

It is the first day and wow, the crowd is there like ever!

Darling No 1 wanted to get a trimmer but he did not see the model he wanted.
And me? I did not intend to get anything but got myself a hair styling thing plus a garment steamer! Well, I have been wanting to get all these but just did not have the courage and with my Darling No 1's persuasion, I went ahead. He is a bad companion who just encourages you to get anything you desire!

Do not go shopping with him! ;p

Anyway here are the pictures when I un-wrapped my presents (yes, he got them for me, thanks dear!)

The styler costs only $50 (discount of $25)

The box for you:

As you can see, there are 5 main styles:  Straight, ringlets, big curls, natural wavy and crimped.

It even comes with 2 types of clips, a pouch and a comb!

And not to miss this out:

Made in China

The box contains this: instruction for using the thing and the warranty guide, plus the pouch.

The items were packed neatly like this, in the exact order.

And the instruction menus:

Liese - Dark Chocolate Hair Dye (DIY)

The last few days I thought to myself, it's time to do something to my hair and today I finally did it!

I had trimmed my hair the last week and still wasn't satisfied with it. I even cut my fringe...

Honestly, I feel that I should cut down on expenses that has got to do with my hair: not to go to hair stylist (so that I can save that $400 bucks for hair straightening every half a year, which translates to $800 a year!) and also not to dye my hair in salons (this will save me like $200 to 300 every 3 months)... and I decided to go and spend on hair conditioning and better shampoo...

So in another words, I had to choose a hair style that is easy to maintain and I will need to be able to trim it myself!

Well, I started having this simple hair style last year (the last time when I visited my favorite hair stylist, I told him I wanted a simple hair cut and I managed to maintain this till now, with a slight variance - the fringe)... Then I tried to cut my hair and cut off my trips to salons... and I say it is still quite okay!

Anyway since my friend introduced me to Liese and we dyed our hair together last December, I have been hooked to dyeing my hair myself! After dyeing the Liese Bubble Hair Color (Sweet Pink), I am sick of that color and now wanted a darker color. And since I started using Maybelline mineral foundation and the BB cream, I appear to have lighter skin tone, which is really suitable for darker hair color... And I do really appear to be fairer on camera!

(Declaration: I don't like to be fair because I think being tanned is healthier! I love Vitamin D!)

Anyway, on Friday, I went to Watson and got myself this Liese Dark Chocolate dye.

Had no time to do it yesterday and decided to do-it-your/myself (DIY) today.

These are the things that came out of the Liese Dark Chocolate Box... As you can see, there is the Bleach (top of the picture), color dye, pump cover, conditional, booklet instructions and the empty box (left of picture). Please ignore that blue top, it happened to be there because I forgot to remove it!

Well, after putting on the glove, I went to pull out the tube. It is actually to be inserted into the bottle to draw out the chemicals...

And this is how I look like, (before the hair dye)... Had to show the top of my head, where my natural black hair is coming out. The photo doesn't show my white hairs (part of the reasons why I wanted to dye my hair!)

(Click on the picture to see the enlarged version, if you want to...)

Well this is me, showing my hair which no longer has that strawberry pink (opps!) Sweet Pink Hair Dye color... it looks brownish because I got them bleached at my last trip to the hair saloon...

A more cheery me, with my hair ends...

Tried to show my hair ends but I just cannot aim properly!

Oh yeah, this shot was taken before I wear the glove...

And then I started to mix the chemicals... the hair color to the bleach... See how the color in the bottle changes as more hair color is added into the bleach...

Well, see the difference...
This is a close up of my hair ends, got Darling No 1 to take this picture, as you can see it is really difficult to take when you are wearing glove and your hands are dirty (this is why I couldn't take the pictures at my last hair dye session)...

Took this after I take my gloves off... Used up the bleach and hair color...
If you look careful enough, I am not at my house (you can see the basin look different from my previous post) so the tap and basin look different...

And because I am not at my house, I couldn't find a proper shower cap! And with my wit, I improvised! Any one can tell me which store I patronised? (leave me a comment below this blog post :p ) And

And I used the brown clip I just got (it cost me just $1, from a accessory shop in WestMall) to fasten my improvised shower cap... You can also see the hair dye staining my forehead too...

After 30minutes, I took off my "shower cap" and you can see the hair looks so dark! But of course when the hair is wet, it looks abit darker...

Then I went to put the hair conditioner (my own one, and also the one provided by Liese...

More pictures later... Going to take somemore after I dried my hair... Now, it's time for dinner!

My Liese Hair Dye

Thought to share my hair dye process with you...

I used the Liese Bubble Hair Color (Sweet Pink) on Saturday evening. It was great!

Decided to do my hair myself as I had a good experience in Dec 09.

That was when me and my 2 other good friend WL and OG dyed our hair together! The same color no less!

It was a memorable evening. We rented a hotel room, actually there were 4 of ours. Another friend, YH did not joined our craze vision of us all having wrapped towels on our head.

Anyway, I decided to do it myself again and it was great! The color went on well and here are some pictures for you.

I definitely recommend this product for first-timer or if you are serious about getting some effect with the least amount of money.

I used to go to salons to do my hair but I think it is time I take my color styling into my own hands.

First of course, I got myself a box of the hair dye. Actually any color goes well, for Liese. Just that I love the name Sweet Pink and the color too.

Then I got my Darling No 3 to pose beside the box. See, the box is no taller than half of her height! She is short!

There are 2 bottles and you got to mix it up. No science there! Anyway after using all the mixture, I decided to wash the bottle and keep it. It looks so cute!

Then I thought to myself, why not show you how easy it is! Here's the picture of my bubbled hair. It doesn't look pink actually... but that is because it was taken immediately after the bubbles are applied.

This is the detailed English version of the instruction. There is a Japanese one as well, if you can read it.

Anyway I took a piece of tissue and swap at my neck. The hair dye was dripping off my neck because I forgot to use the towel. I just walked around my house with my hair bubbled up!

It is really easy. You don't even need spare towels and what-nots...

Anyway I forgot to take a picture of my hair when it's dry. But it's looking great!
