Tip: How to redeem your Facebook Credits in FarmVille

I have redeemed my FaceBook Credits in FarmVille and you should too. Or at least use it for other games if you have not. It will be expired in the next 24hours (at least for me).

So I redeemed it in FarmVille because I want to get the Unwither ring (which is unavailable now unfortunately but I am not in any hurry so I will wait for it to be appear again ;p)

This is the success page you will see when you manage to get it. Yeah I traded 10 Facebook Credit (equivalent to $1)  for 4 FarmVille Cash.

So the first thing I did was to click on Get Farm Cash (top of the screen, 5th tab).
Then I selected the 4 FarmC for $1.00 USD.

Then s ask if I want to use the 10 credits (I took this screen at my 2nd redeemption. You can redeem only 10 credits each time).

Buy 4 FarmCash!

And I was told that I am done!

Your purchase was successful. Items are usually delivered immediately, but during periods of high traffic, it can take 3-4 hours for your purchase to appear in your account.

These free credits were given to you in the middle of last year, but have not been used yet. Any free credits that are not used by February 15, 2011 will expire. These free credits will be available in your account until then and can be used in many games and apps. Any credits that you have purchased will not be affected and will remain in your account.

Now your profile is more visual and includes new interests, such as your favorite sports, people and more.

Windows Live Essentials 2011

I read that you can update your status via MSN and Facebook at the same time!

Saw this link for Windows Live Messenger on Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=30713015083 ) and I decided to go search for the truth!

And yes, MSN confirmed it (read it here) and I think that I should go download the latest version (Windows Live Essentials 2011) and check if it is compatible with my Windows 7.

Windows Live Essentials 2011 Screenshots

I was waiting so anxiously for the status updates to go to Facebook but it didn't!

Anyway here are the screens you will see when you have the new application installed:

I was prompted to connect to 3 services: FaceBook, MySpace or LinkedIn

Obviously I went for FaceBook... And clicked the "Connect with Facebook"

Then I was asked to put in my Facebook log-in email and password...

It then told me what are the things that MSN is asking for? The usual stuff actually

And then, everything went black! For a good 10 second...

The screen then suddenly notified me that the FaceBook connection is done! (I was thinking, great, now I can share my MSN status to Facebook)

As you can see the new MSN (in orange) is really cool, it lets you see the status besides the usual preview. As you can see, the old MSN (in pink) is still locked onto my bar.

Then the welcome message comes...

The new MSN is really glaring! it lets you see the Facebook Updates (circled in orange) on top of the usual stuff of your friend's MSN activities...

Even chats appear different... Of course, why would they do it so good that you don't have to upgrade later?

And then the pictures loaded from Facebook, (after I think 2minutes?)

And you can also see the same thing on the MSN webpage (when you actually log in to the msn.com page)

I am still waiting for my MSN status update to go to FaceBook...

FishVille - Food For Friends Gold Trophy

Finally got to level up and get my final trophy for Food For Friends Gold Trophy.

This is really not easy! Got to visit so many tanks! And it is definitely not easy!

Today I went to True Yoga at Raffles MRT (Ocean Towers) and I expected very bad service and naggy consultants and facilities that were run down but funnily, everything really exceeded my expectation!

My friend paid around $80 a month for a 3 year subscription. I was seriously considering in September and got her to give me and another colleague YJ a free trial with her. She wanted us to go to this thing call Hot Yoga but luckily that class was booked... I don't really fancy sweating more than I have to!

Anyway, the showers wasn't that packed, well our class weren't that crowded about 20 pax instead of the full capacity of 50 pax for the class size... The shower area was incorporated into the private area, with separate toilet facilities. There were also more than enough lockers. Around 30 showers (with shower curtains) and 10 toilets and like around 100+ lockers? There were also 10 or 15 hair blowers/dryers and there were sufficient mirrors. There were also 2 separate changing rooms.

The place had nice waiting areas, good sofas with comfortable cushions that you can sit and relax, while there were great air conditioning and high ceilings for the training venue.

My first impression is really nice and at $20 or even $25 dollar a session, it is really worth it.

And that is the reason why, after the nice hot shower and the 50minute ride home (mrt + feeder bus service), I can still log into FaceBook and play my games.

FarmVille - Bee Hive

Bee Hive was given to Farmers on 2 July 2010.

But I am writing about it only today ;p

Well, I got my Bee Hive Frame in finally because I simply have no space!

This Beehive frame was in my Gift Box for so long, poor thing.

 And the usual notice from FarmVille:

Congrats! You've started building a Beehive! Let your friends know so they can send you gifts?

And when I tried to add in the 70+ bees I've collected (thanks friends!)

Whoa there , Farmer, you'll need to finish building your beehive before you can add any bees.

To complete the Beehive, you need 5 items, just like the Horse Stable Expansion or the Nursery Barn.

5 Smoker, 5 Beeswax, 5 Wooden Board, 5 Nail, and 5 Bricks.

Yup, bees are here, definitely!

Facebook Gift Shop - Closing

I did not think it will never happen, it was just a matter of time.

The FaceBook Gift Shop is closing.

The Facebook Gift Shop is Closing on August 1st.

At that date, you will no longer be able to give new gifts from the Gift Shop. The gifts you've already received on your wall will remain visible and you will still be able to view your sent and received gifts on your gifts page. Learn more about this change in our recent blog post.

The types of gifts affected are virtual gifts, e-cards, Charity and Sports and Celebrities.

I was never a fan (forgive my pun) and did not like the invasive way that the Gift Shop always appears at the message box for people's birthday month. (Oh goot, does that mean that you are seeing this at my Facebook wall now? *faint*)

Anyways, best that it's gone. Hope there will be no replacement!

Facebook is down again (4 July 2010)

Facebook is down again (4 July 2010)... Yes I know it is the holiday and everyone is free and they are logging onto Facebook...

But it just seems that everyone would be logged out! Lucky I woke this morning at 4plus (no, I did not catch the World Cup and yes, I waked up myself, it was a dream, a bad one actually) to load my Facebook. It was before the peak I think. Should be 9pm or 10pm Friday night in US time.

Anyway when I try to open a fresh new page on my Chrome, it shows that the Facebook link is broken.

Though I am able to play my games (currently I have Mafia Wars and FarmVille running), when I tried to post feeds on the wall, the notice come up blank!

I understand that the new windows will appear to have broken Facebook links because of the way Chrome works - cookies are not shared in different windows or tabs. They are a new page and works separately from the existing or previous windows. But the same window that I am running Mafia Wars and FarmVille does not allow feeds to be posted too! Well, I am now just going to keep going around my neigbors' farms and go on attack sprees... I can't clear my gifts but then, I think I don't need them now...

If you also cannot load Facebook, I suggest you do the following things:

1) read and surf around my blog
2) do some yoga (or light stretching)
3) drink more water (go on a "water parade" in Singapore Army term/slang)
4) go hug your love ones
5) do something offline - take a walk and enjoy the quietness of Facebook *grins*

I got this message from a friend...
