Our mind may be complex and may be able to multi-task. But it can really concentrate on a single process or thought at one time.
Have you experience feeling down even though you were thinking about a great time in your life or feeling relieved even though you were reminded of a bad experience?
These paradoxes tell you that what you focus on is what you get!
You may use this to your advantage.
The next time you find yourself in an undesirable situation, focus on the positive side of it. You will immediately start to feel better and be in a better frame of mind to work through it. You will then be better at coming up with a solution rather than letting the problem weigh on you.
To focus on the positive things, you may ask yourself these questions: What is good about this situation? What can I learn from this experience that will make me more successful in a future similar setting?
Once you focus on positive thoughts you will learn to ask yourself effective questions that will bring you constructive answers. If you look hard enough, there will always be a positive side to every situation.
This is the same for Life's challenges - focus on the solutions and not the problems. Focus on your dreams and they will become a reality. Ask yourself: How can I reach my dreams?
Don't be surprised when your brain gives you the answer!
Now it is one thing when someone else tells you their opinion or share with your their beliefs but when you tell it to yourself, you are sure to believe it! So be your own best cheerleader.
